Dermal Fillers

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are an alternative injectable cosmetic procedure replacing invasive facelift options with less recovery time and surgical scarring. As we age we lose the fundamental component of facial volume, due to a reduction in fat pads and skeletal remodelling. This results in a change within our facial tissue composition leading to the appearance of increased facial folds, loss of cheek structure, appearance of tired eyes and jowls around the chin and jaw line area.

Here at DK Aesthetics our specialist nurse has the proficiency and training to understand exactly which filler treatment and product will benefit you the most, depending on the area that needs improvement. Taking into account the following factors within the consultation tailoring treatment to each individuals needs;

  • The price and budget
  • The duration of your desired results
  • How long the procedure will take and how many sessions may be involved

By concealing the undesirable traces of time passage, fillers can have additional positive and unexpected bonuses, not just aesthetically, but psychologically as well. Loving the reflection in your mirror can give you an added incentive to match that youthful face with improvements to other body parts, whether through diet, exercise, or other overlooked aspects.

The pleasing effect of fillers can also enhance your self-confidence exponentially, allowing you to feel more poised, comfortable and relaxed in social settings.

Aftercare Instructions

  • DO NOT apply makeup or creams for at least 12hours post Dermal Filler Treatment.
  • DO NOT expose the treatment areas to extreme heat (e.g. sun beds /sunbathing/solarium/ sauna) for at least 14 days, as this may affect product durability. Individual aftercare advice will be given after your treatment.
  • Bruising is the most common complication of treatment, this can be reduced by applying ice and avoiding alcohol 24-48hrs pre and post procedure. It is ok to cover any bruising with concealer or makeup the next day.

  • If you are using aspirin, clopidogrel , warfarin or similar medication be aware that these may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

  • Rarely numbness or tingling occurs over the site of injection. If the area remains blanched (pale) or becomes extremely painful please contact the clinic immediately as it may be a complication from treatment that requires medical intervention.
